Growing up with a love of music, Melonie Taft has been exposed to the sounds of a saxophone for as long as she can remember. Simply inheriting the gift from her father was not enough for this energetic, creative soul . Melonie quickly discovered that music, with a little color added to it, presented a flair that tossed her into the company of such greats as Ace Cannon, Boots Randolph and Kenny G. She fulfilled a 5 year contract with her record label out of New York and readily admits that it was a challenge to keep up with demands. While one of her favorite statements is, " been there ...done that ", she loves the idea that there is no place like home. She also plays guitar, piano and sings and writes her on songs. If you should pop in somewhere in the south and find a sax player that is having the time of her life just painting her music, chances are you have met Melonie Emerson Taft.
